Old Paths - His Name is JesusAll of the music on the weekend of December 15th will, once again, be Christmas music — celebrating this joyous season that just seems to be “made” for music! Likewise, artist comments will be pertaining to this most wonderful time of the year.

Collingsworths - ChristmasPaul’s Featured Artists on this program will be one of the most gifted of the family groups singing today — the Collingsworth Family. They’ll share half-a-dozen songs from their brand new Christmas CD entitled “Feels Like Christmas.” And it does! You’ll hear their renditions of some classic Christmas carols, including “Beautiful Star of Bethlehem,” along with some exceptional new Christmas songs. You’ll especially enjoy “My Gift Is Me,” sung by Olivia Collingsworth. We’ll talk with the family about why they did a Christmas recording and why (and how) they chose the songs they included.

And, in his Artist Spotlight is the Old Paths Quartet, another of the Southern Gospel groups doing brand new Christmas recordings this year, this one called “His Name Is Jesus.” You’ll hear that title song along with their quartet version of a favorite old carol and a new song that puts this whole Christmas celebration into proper perspective. Paul visits with group members Tim Rackley and Doug Roark.

Along the way, Paul will have brief visits with Quint & Debra Shepherd (the Shepherds), Jonathan Lester (Lesters), Mark Trammell (Mark Trammell Quartet), Ronnie Booth (Booth Brothers) and Greg Gainer (Mercy’s Well). Also, on the Headline Update, he’ll visit with Gerald Williams who, at the end of this year, is retiring his quartet, the Melody Boys Quartet, after 63 years.

KPNR - Georgia Mtn ChristmasMercy's Well - Bethlehem SkyAll of the music on the  program for the weekend of December 8th is Christmas music, with thoughts about this most blessed time of the year from many of your favorite Southern Gospel artists. This will be the second of Paul’s four all-Christmas music editions during December.

And, his Featured Artists on this program will be Mercy’s Well, with six songs from their brand new (literally just now releasing on December 11th) Christmas CD entitled “Bethlehem Sky.” Brad, Greg and Kyle will talk about the new songs they found for this recording and why they’re special. And they’ll share their goals during this Christmas season as they minister in concert.

Plus, Paul will have a Christmas Spotlight visit with Karen Peck & New River, including three songs from their “Georgia Mountain Christmas” CD. Included will be a song written by Karen’s and Susan’s mother. And Karen will tell you why another song they actually recorded last year for this CD actually became much more special to her this year.

Finally, he’ll also visit with Charlotte Ritchie (with songs from her brand new Christmas CD), Kim, Valerie and Heather, the Sisters (about a Christmas song they recorded this year) and Kellan Monroe (of Beyond The Ashes). You’ll also hear Bill Gaither‘s reaction to having his songs sung literally around the world.

Jubilee Christmas

As the month of December begins … this is the first of four The Gospel Greats programs devoted entirely to Christmas music, along with artist thoughts about the reason for the season. This year has produced a lot of outstanding new Christmas music by Southern Gospel artists and Paul will try to share as much of it with you as he can.

And, the Featured Artists on this program will be the Jubilee gang — Greater Vision, Legacy Five and the Booth Brothers, who’ve come together to record an outstanding new CD entitled A Christmas Jubilee. It’s the first Christmas recording in the Jubilee series. You’ll hear some of the songs from this CD, including an original not-to-be-missed Southern Gospel-oriented song based on 12 Days Of Christmas. You’ll find out about how this Christmas recording came together and the unprecedented Christmas tour these three groups are starting.

Plus … he’ll have a Christmas Artist Spotlight visit with the Taylors, with songs from their new Christmas CD, It’s Christmas.

Finally, you’ll also hear from Joe Trusty (Carolina Boys); Matt Hagee (Canton Junction) and Don Reid (Statler Brothers).

Jeff & Sheri - Eyes Wide OpenAnd, his Featured Artists on this program will be Jeff & Sheri Easter. You’ll hear their current Top 20 song, “Over The Mountain,” plus three songs from their new Eyes Wide Open CD. Jeff will explain why one of the songs on there is extra special to him because of who sings it with him. You’ll hear a song Sherri wrote, and find out why so much of their ministry these days builds on lessons learned during her now-past bout with breast cancer. And you’ll hear a song from the “next generation” of Jeff & Sheri Easter music.
