On Saturday, July 4th . . . Independence Day . . . Nella Jenkins of the Jenkins Sisters shares
the seldom-told story behind how Francis Scott Key came to write the Star Spangeled Banner.
It'll be heard three times ... at 9 AM ET, again at 4 PM ET and following the Weekend Jubilee,
which'll be at approximately 9 PM ET. Also, throughout the day, many of the nation's favorite
patriotic melodies will be interspersed with enLighten's regular musical programming.
After a week’s unanticipated delay … the next group of six song lists are prepared for broadcast, to be heard over a period of 12 days beginning on Monday June 22nd … with each guest program director having his or her group of songs heard three times.

Paul's Featured Artists on this national birthday weekend broadcast are the Pfeifers with songs from their current CD, Carry The Banner. They'll explain the touching significance of that title and the very personal song from which it's taken. You'll hear the story of their current featured radio song, He Still Does It All. The Peifers have been ministering through word and music for more than a quarter-century.
Paul also will have an Artist Spotlight visit with Lynda Randle, including songs from her current CD, I'm Free. She'll talk about that title song and about a very special song she wrote and included on her current recording.
Also ... Paul has brief visits with Charlotte Ritchie and Ernie Haase, a 1950s classic from the Blackwood Brothers, a 1970s classic from the Couriers ... and he talks with Gold City's new tenor.

On this "celebrate freedom" weekend ... you'll join the Beene Family in celebrating their 10th
Year Anniversary … in a concert that took place at the Freedom Baptist Church in Bristol,
Tennessee in 2007.
Following this full-length performance by the Beene Family, the Jubilee brings you a portion of
a reunion concert by the Rex Nelon Singers. The group was formed in 1976 … and for the
segment you’ll hear this evening … it features the four singers who made up the Nelons during
the first five years following the retirement of the last of the LeFevres and the group transitioning
to Rex Nelon ... and they inlcude Rex, his daughter Kelly, Rodney Swain and Janet Paschal.
This grand reunion occurred in 1994 and took place in the Mount Paran Church of God North in Marietta, Georgia … and is from a DVD titled A Promised Reunion – Vol. 1. Be on hand for Part Two of this event as well, which will be heard on the Jubilee next weekend.
