Cathedrals - Family Reunion CDOn the weekend of November 2nd broadcast: One of this year’s most highly-anticipated events is the special “Cathedrals Family Reunion” two-day concert event November 8th and 9th in Fort Worth, Texas. In association with that event, Cathedrals alumni Mark Trammell, Ernie Haase, Gerald Wolfe, Scott Fowler and Danny Funderburk have recorded a new CD of, mostly, classic Cathedral Quartet songs. With songs from that CD, they’ll be our Featured Artists on this special edition of The Gospel Greats. If you’re a Cathedrals fan, take a trip down memory lane with these special Featured Artist visits.

Cathedrals Live in AtlantaFreemans, Gettin Out the Good StuffOn this weekend of June 15th … the Jubilee begins with the Freemans in a performance that’s nearly an hour long which was recorded in Morristown, Tennessee in 1996, titled Getting’ Out the Good Stuff.

Then, you’ll hear the first half of a performance Singing News readers chose as one of their TOP Five favorite “live” recordings of all time … the Cathedrals and Live In Atlanta! The clock is being turned back nearly 30 years, as this concert took place in 1983 at the Cobb County Civic Center in the suburb of Marietta, Georgia.

Unfortunately, the federal law which we’ve told you about in the past restricts enLighten from bringing you the entire recording at one time … but, the remainder of it will be heard on the Jubilee two weeks from now.

Cathedrals - Chicago CDAs promised, the Jubilee leads off on this December 8th weekend with the balance the Freemans concert recorded in Marion, Pennsylvania, in 1994 … titled Victory Live.

Then … the Jubilee is pleased to bring you that newly-discovered recording of the Cathedrals concert in the historic Moody Memorial Church in downtown Chicago back in 1996. Along with George and Glen, at this time the quartet included Scott Fowler and Ernie Haase, and pianist Roger Bennett.

won-by-one(2012)Cathedrals - Chicago CDOn the broadcast for the weekend of November 10th, Paul writes: This program will be a very special treat for any long-time Southern Gospel music lover. Our Featured Artists will be none other than the legendary Cathedrals! Yes, although the group retired at the end of 1999, Ernie Haase (a member of the group back then) has found a previously-unreleased recording of a live-in-concert radio broadcast from 1996. You’ll hear the group — George, Glen, Scott, Ernie and Roger — as you remember them in concert from that era. The CD is called Cathedrals – Live In Chicago, and it will definitely be a treat for Cathedrals fans. The songs, the jokes, the banter — it’s all there.

Plus, Paul’s special guest will be Greg Shockley, who’ll tell why he resurrected the “Won By One” name (a group he was in until it disbanded more than a decade ago) for his new family group, singing with his wife, son and daughter, and another couple.

And, there’s more … as you’ll hear from Dennis Humphries (of HisSong about the lingering effects of being pistol-whipped in June), Doug Anderson (about his plans for another solo CD), Brenda Denney (of 2nd Generation about her big win on the Price Is Right), Reagan Riddle (of Primitive Quartet about a special new live recording they have planned)!
